Special Lecture: Prospects for the British Economy after the Financial Storm by Dr Andrew Sentance. Dr Andrew Sentance is a visiting professor in the Department of Economics. He is also an external member of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Bank of England, appointed by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in 2006. The MPC is responsible for setting interest rates in the UK to meet the Government’s inflation target.
